Ellie Perla was born in Romania, of German and Romanian origins, near the city of Temeschburg. This region is a melting pot of nationalities: Romanians, Germans, Hungarians and Serbs, with traces of Turkish, French and Russian, and a large dose of Latin behavior. With such a confused genealogy, Ellie considers herself a world citizen infatuated with foreign lands and cultures. In 1986 Ellie fell in love with the Miami sky and lack of grammar, and decided that this would be her final destination. Both Ellie’s mother and grandmother were painters.
Ellie Perla lives and works in Miami as owner and president of LatinEPR, a public relations agency. An avid photographer, Ellie Perla owns the trademark for 3-D Stereocards™, and boast a collection of over 20,000 travel 3-D photographs. Her travel and lifestyle images have been published over the years in hundreds of international magazines. Ellie is also an illustrator and writer of children’s books. Ellie is partner and artist in residence at ATELIER 1022 Gallery in Wynwood, Miami, at 2732 NW 2nd Avenue and owns and manages the online store www.ATELIER1022.com.
